If you happen to be one of the half-million attendees of Houston’s 40th anniversary Pride Parade this summer, chances are you found your way to the LGBTQ community cornerstone Pearl Bar. Recognized as the go-to lesbian locale, the bar’s owner and founder Julie Mabry opened up the city’s one-and-only bar for girls who love girls in 2014 smack in the heart of the city’s trendy Washington Avenue.
Earlier this summer, Mabry severed as 2018 Honorary Grand Marshal for the Houston Pride Parade. Mostly known as a place specifically for the ladies, the all-inclusive atmosphere is welcoming to everyone. An integral part of the Houston’s queer community, Pearl Bar brings everyone together.
