Native Georgian artist Jesse Watts cannot be contained within one medium. Whether canvas, wooden panels, acrylic paint, ink or pencil, his brilliant use of colors, deliberate but unexpected textures and striking layers place him in a category all his own.
Born in Milledgeville, raised in Sandersville and now residing in the Atlanta suburb of Decatur, Watts is just as incredible with his music as he is with visual art. After graduating from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in music percussion, Jesse made a name for himself playing various percussive instruments in numerous musical ensembles. All the while, he kept art as a hidden hobby.
Eventually, friends found out about his secret talent and asked to see some examples. They were so impressed that they convinced him to go public with his art. This led to several commissioned works, which only fueled his passion to create more. Today, Jesse has transitioned from musician and hidden hobby artist to becoming one of the most unique illustrators of our time.
